General "Selivanoff" (sic) (tinted yellow) sitting in his car with another officer. A Red Cross horse-drawn ambulance (tinted blue) arrives at a permanent hospital and wounded are helped from it. Grand Duke Nicholas, the Commander-in-Chief (tinted grey) talks with other officers beside his headquarters train in a forest. A group of officers watches while their men collect Easter presents of tobacco, and start to light pipes or roll cigarettes. A senior officer (tinted yellow) inspects the horse lines - one horse tries to bite him. Cossacks (tinted grey) perform an impromptu dance to the music of an accordion. Infantry sit in the falling snow by a wood eating. A marching column of dismounted Cossacks.
